Greetings!

We are excited about the relocation of the Andreeva Portrait Academy to north Austin, in the historic tourist-art community of Salado.

Located in the heart of Central Texas and conveniently located less than 200 miles from Texas’ major cities (Houston, DFW, San Antonio), APA is now an easy distance for Texas students and a very short drive from the Austin airport.

Students taking workshops at APA can now stay in the historic Halley/Carriage House located on-campus at Andreeva Portrait Academy.

Most classes in 2009 will be one day (Saturday) or three day workshops. New classes will be announced throughout the year.

Please continue to visit
for upcoming classes in Salado.

Join us in improving your painting skills. We look forward to seeing you in 2009!

Sincerely,

Chris Coggin

This is a photo of the students from Carol Marine’s A Painting a Day class last week. Please visit Carol’s blog for more fun details about the workshop.

There is a fast growing group of people, called daily painters, who do small paintings every day, post photographs of their paintings on a blog, and then sell them through eBay, with a usual starting price of $100. In this way, many artists are finding they can grow quickly in skill and finally make a living with their art, after struggling for years in galleries and at art fairs.- Carol Marine

This week we have Austin artist Carol Marine teaching here at Andreeva Portrait Academy. Carol is a standout among the growing number of people who call themselves Daily Painters. Carol has been taking pictures of her students and their work this week. Please visit her blog, http://carolmarine.blogspot.com/, to see the pictures.

Carol will be teaching three more classes with Andreeva in 2009. The first will be held at our new school Andreeva Prep at Salado, Texas from January 26-30. The other two classes are scheduled for June 1-5 and September 28-October 2, 2009 at Andreeva Portrait Academy in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
